  1. Download the data from European Social Survey (2012), round 6. http://europeansocialsurvey.org
  2. Choose one of the scales to analyze:

Check with the main questionnaire to make sure you are using the right scale.

  1. Choose three countries from the same region of Europe (e.g. Nordic countries, Eastern Europe, Mediterranean)
  2. Run a pooled sample CFA. If you have no idea about the structure, run EFA first. You can drop some items, but explain why.
  3. Conduct the measurement invariance test using multiple group confirmatory factor analysis.
  4. Discuss the results (what can be correctly compared across these three countries? what can not be compared? why?), speculate on possible sources of non-invariance and grounds for invariance. Write it up in 1000-1500 words and supplement with the necessary tables and diagrams.
